A few weeks ago, a dear friend gave me her digital camera. She wondered if I might make more use of it than she had done or was likely to. What a gift! I’ve never had a digital camera before, never considered it as something I might save up to buy.
A few days ago, I noticed said camera in the corner of my room. Still in its box. It’s there right now, waiting for me to get it out and switch it on and play around with it. And why haven’t I? For one, I’ve been Too Busy. For two, I’m not used to having a digital camera so it doesn’t cross my mind to make use of one.
How often do we leave our gifts in boxes because either we’re too busy to explore what’s inside or we haven’t realised yet that it’s truly ours?
