Funeral Faux Pas

Knowing that it was the day of their father’s funeral, I sent someone a business-related email.

I began with a short note of condolence, moved on to work matters, and signed off appropriately.

It was only later that evening that I realised that I’d referred to a piece of information as being “buried” in an earlier email.

I blame it on word association; one’s subconscious has a lot to answer for.
